Long arm stands for stereomicroscopes are designed to allow the microscope head to ‘swing out’ either over large surface area specimens, or to allow fine manipulations on a work bench such as soldering for example without the stand getting in the way.

The BM1 is a portable smaller long arm system with a fixed stereohead with magnification options of x10, x20, and x35.
