Examining the semen of pigs, horses and cattle of many types really assists with successful fertility outcomes. Counting the number of spermatozoa or assessing their motility and shapes is extremely easy with any microscope providing it has a substage condenser with iris diaphragm. A magnification of x400 is sufficient. We also offer a low cost heated stage to maintain motility over time if required. Phase contrast is also useful but by no means essential as slightly closing the substage iris diaphragm produces a very similar effect. We also have a dog fertility kit that shows when pregnancy is most likely.
This bridges the gap between amateur and professional microscopes. Also available as a digital microscope.
