Panasonic
None of the current Panasonic cameras have lens screw threads. The majority can be attached to a microscope via the Unilink and the Linkarm. A small number have lenses that are just too large or too small for photomicrography.
Panasonic DMC-FX2, DMC-FX7, DMC-LC80, DMC-LC70, DMC-LC50, DMC-FX1, DMC-FX-5, DMC-LC33, DMC-LC43, DMC-LC20, DMC-LC5, DMC-LC40.
None of these Panasonic digital cameras have a screw thread on their lens housing and cannot screw directly to the Unilink. However the Linkarm adapter attached to the Unilink will provide a permanent framework to attach any camera by its tripod bush so that it is held securely “looking” down the Unilink. The unique adjustment mechanism of the Linkarm means that it will fit any camera to the Unilink with a few simple adjustments. The frame is then secured in shape using the allen key provided. The Linkarm can be removed from the camera without the frame shape be released, and the camera can be reintroduced very simply when required. Full instructions provided.
Unilink: Price £38.30, Linkarm: Price £17.02
DMC-F220, DMC-FZ3, DMC-LC1, DMC-FZ10, DMC-F222, DMC-F221
These Panasonic cameras have lenses that are just too large for photomicrography, producing a large amount of vignetting.
Hewlett Packard
A small number of HP digital cameras have lens screw threads, many others can attach via the Unilink and Linkarm
HP C912 (49mm) and HP715 (46mm)
Both these camera have screw threads (size in brackets) and can be attached to the Unilink via step rings. The C912 needs 2 - 49 to 46mm and 46-37mm. The 715 need a 46-37mm ring.
Unilink: £38.30, Step rings £9.50 each
HP 850 and 945
These models have a screw thread on the body of the camera at the base of the lens that is an external zoom type. To attach to the Unilink the Tiffen TIF-HP850AD adapter tube is required. This is a tube that allows the zoom lens to move within it and has a 43mm screw thread at its end. This attaches via a 43-37mm step ring to the Unilink.
Unilink: £38.30, Step ring £9.50

HP M407, M307, R507, R707, 635, 735, 812
These cameras have quite small lenses that have a rectangular frame around the lens that may cause field of view problems.. If you are in doubt hold the camera against the eyepiece of your microscope and see what sort of result you get. If you are satisfied and the camera has a tripod bush then the Unilink and the Linkarm would be required.
