The Brunel Minicams are CCTV colour cameras that are little larger than a microscope eyepiece, yet give an excellent picture that can be taken directly to a television set, monitor, VCR recorder or to a lap top or PC. Computer imaging can be either video clips or “image grabbed” still frames. These compact versatile units fit into the eyetubes of all monocular, binocular and trinocular compound microscopes Additionally using the Minicam adapter, the units will also fit all the stereomicroscopes in our range and most others .
The Minicams are 1/3 inch format cameras measuring just 60mm in length and weighing just 75 grams which makes the units ideal for insertion into the inclined monocular eyetubes of our more budget priced microscopes such as the Wedmore, Westbury SP30 and the Winchester SP50, where the weight of conventional CCTV cameras could cause stability problems.
The Minicams are powered by a 9 volt transformer which is integral to the mains plug. The Minicams come complete with all required cabling and and instructions. The Brunel Minicams are available in three distinct formats:
Minicam TV
This Minicam is designed to provide images for Televisions or Monitors (not computer monitors). It has a line resolution of 420 and the image produced is standard PAL (suitable Europe only). Suitable televisions need to have a scart connection and the appropriate plugs and cables are included, which also suit the BNC or Phono connections of monitors. An image can also be obtained on computer by use of the Hauppage external USB device (available accessory)

Minicam PCH
This minicam cannot be used to display images on televisions, and is connected directly to an external USB port of any PC operating Windows 98 (second edition) and above - N.B. not suitable for Windows 95 or 3.1. The Minicam PC unit is complete with software, transformer and USB connection. The resolution of the unit dictates the maximum size of image that can be obtained without image degradation.
MinicamPCH - high resolution version with an image size of 583 x 438 pixels that is TWAIN compliant and can be imported directly into any image processing software. Price £89.36
